Definition of Islam as it relates to Religions, Monotheism, Yahweh

Islam is a monotheistic religion founded on the teachings of the prophet Muhammad, who is believed to have received revelations from Allah (the Arabic name for God) through the archangel Gabriel. These revelations were recorded in the holy book of Islam, the Quran. Adherents of Islam, known as Muslims, believe that Allah is the same deity worshipped by Christians and Jews, making Islam an Abrahamic religion. They see Muhammad as the last in a line of prophets that includes figures like Abraham, Moses, and Jesus. The central tenets of Islam include belief in one God (Tawhid), performing daily prayers (Salah), giving to charity (Zakat), fasting during Ramadan (Sawm), and making a pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj) at least once in a lifetime for those who are able. These practices help Muslims to cultivate a deep connection with Allah, fostering spiritual growth and a sense of community with other believers.
