Pantheism

Definition of Pantheism as it relates to Religions

Pantheism is a philosophical and religious belief system which posits that the universe, in its entirety, is divine and that God is equivalent to nature and the universe itself. It differs from monotheistic religions, such as Christianity and Islam, which believe in a single personal deity who created and governs the universe, and polytheistic religions, such as Hinduism, which believe in multiple deities with distinct personalities and attributes. Pantheists view the universe as an interconnected whole, in which all parts are infused with divinity and consciousness. They reject the idea of a separate, transcendent God who exists apart from the material world. Instead, they see God as immanent, present in every particle of the universe. This belief system has been influential in various philosophical, spiritual, and religious traditions throughout history, including ancient Greek philosophy, Hinduism, Taoism, and certain forms of New Age spirituality.
