Deism

Definition of Deism as it relates to Religions

Deism refers to a philosophical and religious belief system centered around the existence of a non-intervening creator who does not interfere with the universe after its creation. Deists reject revelation, organized religion, and supernatural events, instead relying on reason and observation to understand the natural world and humanity's place within it. They argue that while God exists, He does not involve Himself in human affairs or answer prayers, and therefore individuals must use their own moral judgment and reason to lead ethical lives. Deism has influenced various historical figures, including many of the Founding Fathers of the United States, who saw it as a rational alternative to traditional religious beliefs.
