Deism

Definition of Deism as it relates to Religions, Agnosticism, Confucianism

Deism, as it relates to Confucianism and is a part of the Religions hierarchy, can be described as a belief in the existence of a supreme being, creator of the universe, who does not intervene in the universe. The deist believes in the possibility of obtaining knowledge about the world through reason and observation, relying on natural religion rather than revelation or authority. This perspective shares similarities with Agnosticism in its emphasis on questioning and seeking understanding through personal exploration. Deism within Confucianism may emphasize the importance of ethics, morality, and human reason as a means to connect with and understand the divine.
