Deism

Definition of Deism as it relates to Religions, Agnosticism, Christianity

Deism is a belief in the existence of a higher power or creator, grounded in reason and nature rather than religious revelation or dogma. It is distinct from Christianity, which is based on the life, teachings, and resurrection of Jesus Christ as recorded in the New Testament. However, it shares similarities with Agnosticism in that both involve questioning and skepticism towards certain aspects of religion. Deism can be seen as a middle ground between strict religious orthodoxy and atheism, acknowledging the existence of a deity but rejecting organized religious institutions and supernatural elements. As such, it fits within the broader category of Religions as a distinct belief system with its own unique principles and perspectives.
