Zoroastrianism

Definition of Zoroastrianism as it relates to Religions, Atheism

Zoroastrianism, one of the world's oldest monotheistic religions, originated in ancient Iran around 3500 years ago. Founded by Prophet Zoroaster (also known as Zarathustra), it emphasizes on the struggle between good and evil, with the ultimate victory of good over evil. Central to this faith is the belief in a single, benevolent deity, Ahura Mazda, who represents truth, order, and goodness. Fire holds a significant place in Zoroastrian practices as a symbol of purity and divinity. The religion also promotes ethical living, charity, and respect for nature. Despite its decline due to the rise of Islam, it continues to be practiced by a small community worldwide.
