Agnosticism
Agnosticism is a philosophical stance that holds the belief that ultimate truths, particularly regarding the existence or non-existence of a deity or deities, are inherently unknowable or unprovable. It emphasizes that knowledge about such matters can never be definitively obtained and therefore remains an open question. Agnostics may maintain personal beliefs and engage in religious practices, but they do not claim certainty regarding these issues. This position differs from both theism (the belief in a god or gods) and atheism (the disbelief or lack of belief in a deity), as it acknowledges the limitations of human understanding and the possibility of various perspectives on existence and meaning. Agnosticism is not an absence of belief, but rather a recognition that certain knowledge cannot be attained.
