Monotheism
Monotheism refers to the religious belief in a single, all-powerful deity who is the sole creator and ruler of the universe. It is a system of faith that acknowledges only one god, as opposed to polytheistic religions which believe in multiple gods or pantheons. Monotheistic religions include Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and others, each with their own unique interpretations and practices, but all sharing a common belief in the existence of a single divine entity. Central to monotheistic beliefs is the idea that this deity is omnipotent, omniscient, and morally perfect, and that humans have a special relationship with this god through faith, prayer, and moral conduct. Monotheism has had a profound impact on human culture, shaping societies, laws, ethics, and philosophies throughout history.
