Instructional Design
Instructional Design refers to a systematic and reflective process of translating principles of learning and instruction into plans for instructional materials, activities, information resources, and evaluation. It encompasses the analysis of learning needs and contexts, development of performance objectives, creation of assessment instruments, and selection of teaching strategies and media. The field is grounded in research from education, psychology, computer science, and design, and it is especially relevant to special education and reading education as it often addresses diverse learners' needs and literacy development. Instructional designers work in a variety of settings including schools, universities, corporations, and non-profit organizations to create effective, engaging, and accessible learning experiences for all types of learners.
