Buddhism

Definition of Buddhism as it relates to Religions, Shintoism, Prayer

Buddhism, rooted in the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama, known as the Buddha, emphasizes the alleviation of suffering through understanding the nature of existence, achieving inner peace, and cultivating compassion. It encompasses various traditions, beliefs, and practices, such as meditation, mindfulness, ethical conduct, and wisdom. As a path to enlightenment and spiritual growth, Buddhism complements prayer in many religious contexts, including Shintoism and other religions. In the hierarchy of Religions/Shintoism/Prayer/Buddhism, Buddhism represents a distinct approach that focuses on personal transformation and interconnectedness, deepening one's understanding of existence and fostering a compassionate worldview, which can be expressed through prayer or other forms of devotion.
