Buddhism

Definition of Buddhism as it relates to Religions, Agnosticism, Hinduism

"Buddhism" under "Hinduism" in the hierarchy "Religions/Agnosticism/Hinduism/Buddhism" can be described as a spiritual tradition originating in ancient India that shares certain philosophical and ethical principles with Hinduism, such as the pursuit of enlightenment and liberation from the cycle of rebirth. However, Buddhism diverges from Hinduism in its rejection of the caste system and the belief in a personal god or gods. Instead, Buddhism emphasizes the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path as a path to enlightenment. It is important to note that while Buddhism shares certain similarities with Agnosticism, such as a focus on individual spiritual development and questioning of traditional religious beliefs, it ultimately posits the possibility of enlightenment through personal practice and realization, rather than simply suspending judgment or remaining uncertain about the existence of a higher power.
