Sikhism

Definition of Sikhism as it relates to Religions, Deism, Types Of Religions

Sikhism is a monotheistic religion founded in the Punjab region of India during the late 15th century. It emphasizes the belief in one universal God, the equality of all humans, and the pursuit of justice and truth. Sikhs believe in living an honest life and meditating on God's name. The faith is based on the teachings of ten Sikh Gurus, embodied in the sacred scripture, the Guru Granth Sahib. Understanding Sikhism as a component of "Types of Religions" within the broader context of "Religions" and "Deism" provides insight into its unique characteristics and distinct identity among other world religions. While sharing some similarities with other faiths, such as a belief in one God, Sikhism is not reducible to any other religion or philosophical system. Instead, it offers a rich and complex spiritual tradition that continues to shape the lives of millions of people around the world today.
