Sikhism
Sikhism is a monotheistic religion founded in the Punjab region of India in the 15th century. It emphasizes the pursuit of truth, equality, and service to others, and rejects the caste system and idol worship. The teachings of Sikhism are contained in its holy scripture, the Guru Granth Sahib. As a child category of Confucianism within the Religions hierarchy, Sikhism shares some similarities with Confucianism, such as an emphasis on ethical living and community service. However, it also has significant differences, such as its belief in a single deity and rejection of traditional Hindu practices. Additionally, while Confucianism focuses primarily on social order and ethics, Sikhism encompasses a broader range of beliefs and practices, including meditation, prayer, and charitable works. Overall, Sikhism offers a unique perspective within the wider context of world religions, one that emphasizes both personal spiritual growth and social responsibility.
