Christianity

Definition of Christianity as it relates to Religions, Monotheism, God, Monotheistic Religions

Christianity is a monotheistic religion centered around the life, teachings, and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who is believed to be the Son of God and the savior of humanity. Adherents, known as Christians, follow the Holy Bible, which includes the Old Testament (Hebrew Scriptures) and the New Testament, with the latter containing four Gospels that chronicle the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Christianity emphasizes faith in God, love for one's neighbor, forgiveness of sins, and the pursuit of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. As an integral part of Monotheism within Religions, Christianity shares fundamental beliefs with other Monotheistic Religions, including the belief in a single, all-powerful deity, known as God, who is the creator and sustainer of the universe. Christianity, however, distinguishes itself by its focus on Jesus Christ as the unique path to salvation and eternal life.
