Christianity, as a faith within the larger category of Monotheism and World Religions, is rooted in the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It shares with Judaism the belief in a single, eternal God who is the creator of the universe. However, Christianity diverges from Judaism in its understanding of how humanity can be reconciled to God, teaching that salvation comes through faith in Jesus as the Messiah and the Son of God. This faith is expressed through worship, prayer, sacraments, and acts of service and charity. Christians believe that their faith is not just one among many paths to truth and salvation, but rather the full revelation of God's plan for humanity.
