Special Education refers to an educational approach tailored to meet the unique learning needs and abilities of students with disabilities, including those with intellectual, physical, sensory, emotional, and communication impairments. It aims to ensure equal access to education and provide opportunities for these students to achieve their full potential. Special educators work collaboratively with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized education programs (IEPs) that address the specific needs of each student. These programs may include specialized instruction, related services, accommodations, and modifications in curriculum and assessment. The ultimate goal of special education is to help students with disabilities become independent learners and active members of their communities.
