School Counseling
School counseling is a specialized area within education that focuses on promoting academic, social-emotional, and career development for students from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. School counselors work in collaboration with teachers, administrators, families, and other school staff to create safe and supportive learning environments where all students can succeed. They employ a variety of strategies, including individual and group counseling, classroom guidance lessons, and consultation with parents and educators, to address the unique needs and challenges of each student. Additionally, school counselors strive to promote health education by addressing issues such as bullying prevention, mental health awareness, and substance abuse prevention. Ultimately, the goal of school counseling is to empower students to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens who can achieve their full potential in school and beyond.
