Molecular Biology
Definition of Molecular Biology as it relates to Science, Genetics, Heredity
Molecular biology is the branch of biology concerned with understanding the interactions between the various systems and components of cells, including DNA, RNA, proteins, and metabolites. In the context of heredity, molecular biology seeks to explain how genetic information is encoded in DNA, transcribed into RNA, and translated into proteins, which ultimately determine an organism's traits. It is a fundamental field that underpins much of our current understanding of genetics and heredity, and provides insights into the mechanisms of inheritance and evolution.
