Definition of Environmental Science as it relates to Science

Environmental Science is an interdisciplinary field that studies the interactions between physical, chemical, and biological components of the Earth's system and the impact of human activities on those systems. It encompasses a wide range of topics including but not limited to ecology, geology, atmospheric science, hydrology, and environmental policy. The ultimate goal of environmental science is to understand and find solutions for environmental problems, such as climate change, pollution, and resource depletion. Practitioners in this field use a variety of scientific methods, including observation, experimentation, and modeling, to study the environment and develop sustainable practices for its preservation.
