Astrobiology
Astrobiology is an interdisciplinary field that explores the origins, evolution, and distribution of life in the universe. It combines elements from several scientific fields including biology, chemistry, geology, physics, and astronomy to understand how life arises and persists in various environments. Astrobiologists study the potential for extraterrestrial life by examining conditions on other planets and moons, as well as analyzing the chemical compositions of meteorites and other celestial bodies. Additionally, they investigate extremophiles, organisms that thrive in extreme conditions on Earth, to better understand the limits of life and its adaptability. The ultimate goal of astrobiology is to answer fundamental questions about our place in the universe and the possibility of finding other intelligent beings beyond our planet.
