Astrobiology
Astrobiology is the scientific study of the potential for life beyond Earth, including the origins, evolution, distribution, and future of life in the universe. It combines principles of biology, chemistry, geology, and astronomy to investigate the conditions and environments that could support life on other planets or moons. Astrobiologists explore extremophiles on Earth, such as bacteria in hot springs or deep-sea vents, to understand the limits of life and apply this knowledge to the search for extraterrestrial life forms. This interdisciplinary field seeks to answer fundamental questions about the nature of life and its existence in the cosmos.
