Astrobiology

Definition of Astrobiology as it relates to Science, Medicine, Oncology

Astrobiology is the study of the origin, evolution, and distribution of life in the universe, encompassing the search for extraterrestrial life and understanding how life emerges from cosmic and planetary processes. In the context of Oncology, Astrobiology seeks to explore the potential origins of cancer in space, as well as the effects of space travel on living organisms and the development of cancer treatments that can withstand extreme environments. By examining the parallels between Earth-based life forms and those that may exist elsewhere in the cosmos, Astrobiology advances our understanding of cancer and its impact on human health, making it a valuable addition to the fields of Science and Medicine.
