Definition of Paleontology as it relates to Animals, Fossil Animals, Dinosaurs
Paleontology is the scientific study of life that existed prior to, and sometimes including, the start of the Holocene Epoch roughly 11,700 years ago. It includes the examination of plant and animal fossils, including those of dinosaurs, as well as the reconstruction of extinct environments. Paleontology seeks to understand the history of life on Earth, providing insights into evolutionary processes, climatic change, and the development of ecosystems over geological time scales.
