Definition of Genetics as it relates to Science, Biotechnology, Biology

It involves examining genes, which are the basic units of inheritance, and understanding how they interact with each other and the environment to determine an organism's characteristics. Genetics plays a crucial role in the fields of biology, medicine, and agriculture, and has numerous applications in areas such as genetic testing, gene therapy, and crop improvement. In the hierarchy of Science/Biotechnology/Biology, genetics is the study of how biological information is encoded, inherited, and expressed at the molecular level, providing insights into the mechanisms of evolution and the diversity of life on Earth.
