Definition of Expressionism as it relates to Art, Figurative Art, Contemporary Figurative Art
Conceptual Art: A form of art in which the concept(s) or idea(s) involved in the work take precedence over traditional aesthetic and material concerns. It is often associated with text, language, and non-traditional media. In contrast to figurative art, which seeks to depict recognizable subjects and forms, Conceptual Art prioritizes the intellectual engagement of the viewer with the ideas or concepts being presented. This category also includes contemporary figurative art that uses conceptual approaches in its creation and presentation. The focus is on the concept, the idea behind the work, rather than the physical representation.
