An Art Movement is a significant shift or change in artistic style, technique, and/or ideology, often spanning across various mediums such as painting, sculpture, architecture, and printmaking. These movements are driven by cultural, social, political, and technological factors, and serve as a reflection of the zeitgeist of their time. Art Movements can be characterized by their shared visual language, subject matter, and philosophical underpinnings, and often influence future generations of artists and art forms. Examples include Impressionism, Cubism, Surrealism, and Minimalism, among others.
