Definition of Visual Arts as it relates to Art, Expressionist Art, Art Museums

Art Movement: Expressionist Art is an artistic style that emerged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, characterized by the use of bold colors, distorted forms, and exaggerated emotions to convey intense personal expression. It originated as a reaction against traditional academic art and sought to break free from established norms and conventions. Expressionist artists aimed to express their inner worlds and emotions through their work, often depicting subjects in a subjective and emotionally charged manner. This movement had a significant impact on the development of modern art and can be found in many art museums around the world.
