Definition of Visual Arts as it relates to Art, Baroque Art, Sculpture

Cultural Heritage, as pertaining to Art, Baroque Art, and Sculpture, refers to the legacy of physical artifacts and intangible attributes of a group or society that are inherited from past generations, maintained in the present and bestowed for the benefit of future generations. These cultural heritage expressions are both tangible (such as traditional craftsmanship, buildings, historic places, monuments, sculptures, works of art, literature, design, musical compositions, films, and recorded performances) and intangible (such as oral traditions, performing arts, rituals, festive events, knowledge and practices concerning nature and the universe or the history of peoples, social practices, routines, and lifestyles). Baroque Art, a highly ornate style that used exaggerated motion and clear, easily interpreted detail to produce drama, tension, emotional exuberance, and grandeur in sculpture, painting, literature, dance, and music, is an important part of this heritage. The category encompasses the preservation, documentation, interpretation, and management of these cultural assets for the benefit of present and future generations, recognizing their value in promoting cultural diversity, dialogue, and understanding, as well as a sustainable and inclusive development.
