Definition of Modern Art as it relates to Art, Abstract Art, Art History

The Italian Renaissance, an era spanning from the 14th to the 17th century, was a period of immense cultural and artistic rebirth in Italy. This movement marked a departure from the Middle Ages, with a renewed interest in humanism, scientific exploration, and classical Greek and Roman art. The Italian Renaissance saw the emergence of many prominent artists who made significant contributions to the world of art, including Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Titian. These artists were known for their mastery of various mediums such as painting, sculpture, and architecture. They introduced new techniques, such as linear perspective and chiaroscuro, which added depth and realism to their works. Abstract art, while not a dominant form during this period, can still be seen in the geometric patterns and ornamentation found in many Renaissance buildings and decorative arts. Overall, the Italian Renaissance was a time of great innovation and creativity in the world of art, leaving behind a rich legacy that continues to inspire artists today.
