"Secondary Education" refers to the period of formal education typically undertaken by individuals between the ages of 11 and 18, following completion of primary or elementary education. It encompasses a range of academic subjects, including mathematics, science, language arts, social studies, and foreign languages, as well as extracurricular activities, sports, and vocational training programs. Secondary Education institutions may include high schools, secondary schools, gymnasiums, and technical colleges, among others. The goal of Secondary Education is to provide students with a broad-based education that prepares them for higher education, the workforce, or other post-secondary pursuits. It is characterized by a focus on critical thinking, problem-solving, independent learning, and social development, as well as preparation for standardized tests such as the SAT or ACT in the United States.
