Definition of Secondary Education as it relates to Education, Health Education, Child Development

Secondary Education refers to the stage of formal education that typically follows primary education and precedes tertiary education. It generally includes grades 6-12, depending on the country and educational system. Secondary Education is focused on preparing students for higher education or entry into the workforce by providing academic instruction in a variety of subjects such as mathematics, science, language arts, social studies, and foreign languages. In addition to academics, secondary education also provides opportunities for extracurricular activities, community service, and career exploration. Health Education and Child Development are often integrated into the curriculum of Secondary Education, teaching students about physical and mental health as well as the developmental stages of childhood.
