Hinduism

Definition of Hinduism as it relates to Religions, Agnosticism, Monotheism

Hinduism is a religion that originated in India, characterized by a diverse collection of beliefs, practices, and traditions, many of which are interconnected. It recognizes a single divine reality, Brahman, which can be experienced as polytheistic, pantheistic, monistic, or even atheistic. Its approach to the divine is often seen as henotheistic, acknowledging multiple deities while emphasizing one as supreme. The belief in karma and reincarnation, as well as the pursuit of dharma (duty/virtue), artha (prosperity/work), kama (desire/passion), and moksha (liberation/salvation) are integral to Hinduism. In this hierarchy, it is related to Monotheism through its recognition of a single divine reality, while also intertwining with Agnosticism due to the allowance for atheistic interpretations and Religions as a broader classification.
