Definition of Microbiology as it relates to Science, Genetics, Bacteriology

Microbiology encompasses the study of microscopic organisms and their interactions with their environments, including bacteria. It is a fundamental aspect of genetics as it explores genetic material at the smallest scales, and significantly contributes to bacteriology through its examination of bacterial species. As such, it fits naturally into the Science/Genetics/Bacteriology hierarchy.
