Physical Education: A systematic and developmental process designed to facilitate voluntary physical activity and promote optimal health, fitness, well-being, skill acquisition, and social engagement through a broad range of instructional methods and learning experiences in school, community, and recreational settings. It encompasses the exploration and understanding of movement concepts, motor skills, biomechanics, exercise physiology, sports psychology, growth and development, safety and injury prevention, and lifestyle behaviors related to physical activity and health. Physical education provides opportunities for students to develop self-confidence, leadership skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, ethical decision making, and respect for diversity while fostering a lifelong commitment to active living and personal wellness.
