Physical Education
Physical Education (PE) is an educational discipline focused on promoting physical activity, health and wellness through structured instruction and participation in various sports, games and fitness activities. It encompasses the development of motor skills, knowledge of movement principles, strategies and tactics, social interaction and personal responsibility for one's own health and wellbeing. PE curriculum may vary by grade level and institutional context, but generally emphasizes physical activity, skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal fitness assessment and goal-setting. In higher education, Physical Education also encompasses fields such as Exercise Science, Sports Medicine, Coaching, and Adapted Physical Education for individuals with disabilities.
