Mammals

Definition of Mammals as it relates to Animals, Prey Animals, Zebra

Mammals are warm-blooded, vertebrate animals characterized by the presence of hair or fur and the ability to nurse their young with milk produced by specialized mammary glands. This diverse group includes both prey animals such as zebras, which have developed adaptations to evade predators, as well as a wide variety of other creatures ranging from bats and whales to primates and rodents. Mammals are found on every continent except Antarctica and in nearly every habitat on Earth, from the depths of the ocean to the highest mountaintops. They are known for their complex behaviors, highly developed nervous systems, and unique physiological adaptations, such as the ability to regulate body temperature and maintain homeostasis in a variety of environments.
