Oceanography
Oceanography is the scientific study of the ocean, encompassing its physical and chemical properties, as well as its biology and geology. As a branch of Physical Geography, it examines the ocean's role in shaping the Earth's climate, weather patterns, and coastlines. It also investigates the interactions between the ocean and the atmosphere, including the exchange of heat, moisture, and gases. In the context of Environmental Science, Oceanography focuses on the impact of human activities on the ocean and its ecosystems, as well as the implications for biodiversity and conservation. Through the study of tides, currents, and waves, Oceanographers seek to understand the dynamic nature of the ocean and its role in regulating the Earth's systems.
