Tigers are large, striped felids known for their power and beauty. They are part of the Zoo Animals subgroup within the Domesticated Animals category, under Hyenas in the Animals hierarchy. Despite being commonly found in zoos, tigers are not domesticated animals and cannot be kept as pets. These majestic creatures are native to various regions of Asia, including India, Russia, and China, where they inhabit forests, grasslands, and wetlands. Tigers are apex predators, capable of taking down large prey such as deer and wild boar. Their distinctive orange and black stripes serve as camouflage in the dappled light of their natural habitats. There are several subspecies of tigers, each with unique characteristics adapted to their specific environments. In captivity, tigers can live up to 20 years or more, while in the wild, they face numerous threats such as habitat loss and poaching for their valuable fur.
