Theism
Theism, as it relates to Judaism and the broader categories of Religions and Agnosticism, can be described as a belief in a higher power or deity who is actively involved in the world. This belief is held by many Jews and is a fundamental aspect of Jewish theology. However, Judaism is a diverse religion with a range of beliefs about God, and not all Jews identify as theists. Theism in this context can encompass monotheistic beliefs, such as the idea that there is only one God who created and governs the universe, as well as polytheistic or pantheistic views. It is important to note that Judaism is a religion with its own unique traditions, practices, and texts, and theistic beliefs within Judaism must be understood in this context. Theism in Judaism is not simply a matter of believing in a deity, but also encompasses questions about the nature of God, the relationship between God and humanity, and the role of God in the world.
