Neuroscience

Definition of Neuroscience as it relates to Science, Mathematics, Experimental Physics

Neuroscience is the scientific study of the nervous system, which includes the brain and spinal cord, as well as nerves throughout the body. It is an interdisciplinary field that draws heavily on biology, psychology, mathematics, physics, and computer science. In particular, experimental neuroscientists often use techniques from physics and engineering to study the electrical properties of neurons and neural circuits. They may also employ mathematical models to understand complex brain functions such as learning and memory. Thus, Neuroscience fits within the broader categories of Science, Mathematics, and Experimental Physics by providing a framework for understanding how the physical properties of the nervous system give rise to mental processes and behavior.
