Supply Chain Management

Definition of Supply Chain Management as it relates to Business, Quality Control, Financial Analysis

Revenue Recognition refers to the process of systematically and consistently recording revenue in financial statements when earned, as per the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). It involves identifying the performance obligations in a contract, determining the transaction price, allocating that price to specific performance obligations, and recognizing revenue as those obligations are fulfilled. Quality Control measures ensure that this process is accurate, reliable and consistent. Financial Analysis uses Revenue Recognition information to evaluate the financial health of a business, including its profitability, liquidity, and efficiency. Proper Revenue Recognition is critical for businesses to provide accurate and transparent financial statements to investors, regulators and other stakeholders.
