Transcendentalism
Transcendentalism emphasizes the inherent goodness of people and nature, as well as the importance of intuition and experience in understanding the world. It promotes the idea of self-reliance and individualism, encouraging people to look within themselves for truth and guidance rather than relying on external authority or tradition. Transcendentalists believe that by transcending the physical and empirical world, one can access a deeper spiritual reality and achieve a higher level of consciousness. In this hierarchy, Transcendentalism fits under Taoist Ethics due to their shared emphasis on intuition, self-reliance, and unity with nature. However, while Taoist ethics tend to focus on the natural world and its inherent order, Transcendentalism goes a step further in encouraging individuals to transcend their physical limitations and access a higher spiritual reality. This aligns with the broader category of Religions, as both Taoist Ethics and Transcendentalism involve spiritual beliefs and practices, while Pantheism is also related through its belief in a unifying divine presence that permeates all of existence.
