Physiology

Definition of Physiology as it relates to Science, Zoology, Immunobiology

Physiology focuses on the functioning of living organisms and their component systems, including how they maintain homeostasis. In the context of Immunobiology, Physiology investigates the mechanisms involved in immune responses, such as the role of cytokines and chemokines in inflammation and immune cell trafficking, as well as the impact of stress on immune function. It is also relevant to Zoology, where it can be used to understand the physiological adaptations that allow animals to survive in different environments, and Science more broadly, as its principles are fundamental to all biological disciplines.
