Physiology

Definition of Physiology as it relates to Science, Zoology, Experimental Zoology

Physiology is the study of how living organisms function at both the molecular and cellular level, as well as whole-organism level. In the context of Zoology and Experimental Zoology, it focuses on understanding the physiological processes of animals, including their nervous systems, muscles, endocrine systems, and other organs. Research in this area often involves experimental methods to investigate how various factors, such as genetics, environment, and disease, affect animal function. By studying physiology, scientists can gain insights into the fundamental mechanisms that underlie life, as well as develop strategies for improving animal health and welfare.
