Zoology is the branch of biology concerned with the study of animals, their behavior, evolution, classification, and diversity. It encompasses a wide range of disciplines including comparative anatomy, physiology, genetics, ecology, ethology, and conservation biology. Zoologists may specialize in studying particular groups of animals such as mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, or invertebrates. They observe animals in their natural habitats, conduct experiments in laboratories, and analyze data to understand the complex relationships between animals and their environment. Zoology has important practical applications in areas such as agriculture, medicine, and conservation. It is a constantly evolving field that seeks to expand our understanding of the incredible diversity of life on Earth.
