Impressionism
Impressionism is a 19th-century art movement characterized by visible brushstrokes, open composition, emphasis on light and its changing qualities, ordinary subject matter, and the inclusion of movement as a crucial element of human perception and experience. Artists associated with Impressionism sought to capture the fleeting moments of everyday life through the use of vibrant colors and loose brushwork, often painting en plein air to accurately depict the effects of light and atmosphere.
