Post Impressionism
Post Impressionism is an art movement that developed in the late 19th century as a response to Impressionism. Artists associated with Post Impressionism sought to move beyond the naturalism and fleeting light effects of Impressionism, focusing instead on the expression of emotion and the use of vivid colors, bold brushwork, and distorted forms. Post Impressionist artists often explored themes of symbolism, abstraction, and personal interpretation in their work. Some of the most famous Post Impressionist artists include Vincent van Gogh, Paul Cézanne, and Georges Seurat.
