Protein Synthesis
Protein Synthesis: The process by which genetic information encoded in chromosomes is transcribed and translated into proteins, playing a crucial role in gene expression. In Translation, this process begins with messenger RNA (mRNA) carrying the genetic code from the DNA in the chromosome to the ribosome, where transfer RNA (tRNA) brings the necessary amino acids and incorporates them into a polypeptide chain. This subcategory of Translation is integral to the field of Genetics, as it provides a functional manifestation of genetic information stored in Chromosomes. Protein Synthesis is essential for life, as proteins are responsible for various cellular functions and structures. It represents the culmination of the central dogma of molecular biology, transforming DNA to RNA to protein.
