Definition of Hebrew Bible as it relates to Books, Christian Books, Biblical Studies, Biblical StudiesHebrew Bible, Old Testament

The "Hebrew Bible" is a collection of religious texts sacred to Judaism, Christianity, and Samaritanism. It contains 24 books, divided into three sections: the Torah (also known as the Pentateuch), the Nevi'im (Prophets), and the Ketuvim (Writings). The Hebrew Bible is considered the foundational text of Jewish tradition and is also known as the Tanakh. In Christian Biblical Studies, it is often referred to as the Old Testament, and its texts are studied in the context of their historical, cultural, and literary significance. The Hebrew Bible serves as a critical source for understanding the religious beliefs, practices, and history of ancient Israelites and Judeans, as well as their relationship with God. As such, it is an essential component of Biblical Studies and is closely related to the study of Christian Books and the Old Testament.
