Invertebrates
Invertebrates, as a part of the Araneae order, are characterized by their lack of a backbone. While spiders fall within this grouping, invertebrates in the context of spiders specifically refer to those species that are not classified as true spiders but share some similarities. Invertebrates found within the Araneae order tend to have elongated bodies and legs, with two main body segments and eight legs. Examples of invertebrates within this category include harvestmen (Opiliones), which have oval-shaped bodies and long, slender legs, and pseudoscorpions, which possess pincer-like appendages. While these creatures are not true spiders, they occupy a similar ecological niche and share some physical traits with their Araneae relatives.
